Okay, I’m over-analyzing. But still.

If I could portray my life as is into a book right now, it would so totally fit with Anna and the French Kiss. And I’m not saying this just because author Stephanie Perkins is made of awesome and that I’m completely in love with the book, but right now, I can totally relate with Anna. Boys with accents, exploring the city (New York, not Paris in my case), friends, that awkward moment where you think your friend likes the same boy, etc, etc. But in my case, I totally feel like Mer. Which totally sucks. Because we all (okay, maybe not everyone has read Anna) know how the story ends. Anna gets the boy masterpiece. And if I’m Mer, I’ll be stuck alone. Again.

Sigh this is depressing. I’ll go back to reading Anna and not think about the fact that I’m Mer-in-real-life. Pretending to be Anna is much more fun.

… Or maybe I’m just feeling overly hormonal since I’m not being regulated anymore. Oh geez.

Oh, and one more thing: why am I blabbing everything about my personal life on the blogosphere? Am I insane? … No my hormones are just out of control. Sigh. Okay, time for homework.

I made a collage last year to decorate my room, but this year, I wanted something that was a little more meaningful. This is one of my favorite literary quotes. Suzanne Collins is a beautiful writer.

This surprisingly did not take very long to make. I just cut out around 25 pages of magazine ads, cut them in half, and then cut them into letters.

I’m thinking about doing another quote for the other side of the room.

Severus Snape, a professor in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, embodies the phrase, “Love Never Dies.” Snape had infiltrated the ranks of Lord Voldemort, the most feared wizard of all time, because of his undying love for Lily Potter. In hopes of preserving her memory, he helped Harry Potter for the next seventeen years of his life, despite the fact that Harry’s dad had tormented him throughout his childhood. Harry wasn’t his favorite person either, but Snape had saved his live many times. With his greasy hair and hooked nose, it was so easy to hate him. But after hearing that everything he did was for his unrequited love for Lily Potter, how could you not admire him? Despite Lily’s death, he did everything in his power to keep her only son alive.

To be honest, I did this all for fun. I’m a Potter fanatic but who knew that I would actually win a runner-up prize? Potter ftw!

Busy weekend! Hopefully I will get a lot, if not all, of this done.

The first event we tackled was the McQueen for a Night event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. My friends and I were all expecting the Met to be closed down for the college group specifically, but that didn’t happen. Dressing up eccentrically was a lot of fun even if we got a lot of odd looks on the way there. I really love playing dress up and putting on an obscene amount of make-up. There were loads of people there for the Met event and it really could have been more enjoyable if there were less people. Oh well.

The highlight of the night would have to be the Digital Photobooth that they set up. Of course we all took a bunch of silly pictures!

Other things accomplished:

• Took Moz for the first time to Strand; of course I bought books
• Tried some new items at Max Brenner
• Indulged on Big Gay Ice Cream Truck using my Groupon!
• Experienced Jing Fong on a Saturday night … empty! and they actually had decent table service
• Spied on two Chinese weddings

1. Waking up before 10
2. Running to the grocery store to stock up on food (and resisting a package of cookies… but I gave in with a bag of chips)
3. Making a yummy lunch
4. Eating & reading outside … for three hours
5. Only to get sunburn on half my body
6. Spending the rest of the day inside slaving over homework and starting papers last minute
7. Finding out that the week of BEA that I was so looking forward to will be marred with the presence of two exams.

Exams suck. These last few weeks are going to be absolutely hellish.

What’s the point of express mail shipping if I don’t get my package straight away? Seriously. Step up your game. I want my instant gratification.

So my first day back. It seems that I have fallen into a habit of waking up at a ridiculous time of 8:50-something. I’ve been doing it for a couple of days now, no matter what time I fall asleep. My mental clock just happens to know when it’s almost nine and it wants me to wake up for some reason. So I’m up before nine, and what did I do? Stay in bed of course.

As much as I would have loved, I didn’t stay in bed the whole day without interruptions. I promised that I would start getting ready for school which means book shopping! Hooray! As much as I love books, there is nothing more I detest in the world than having to buy books for school. Because all that money could be spend on pleasurable books. And it hurts that textbooks are very expensive. I managed to make a list of all the books I need and bought one from the internet. Not bad.

At one, Tasha and I went to Strand. I’ve been craving to purchase a real book for a week now. I hate how I get these sudden urges to have a new book in my hands and call it mine mine mine. As much as I love the library, and as much as I love the nook, I don’t get that same thrill when I have a newly purchased book in my hands. I like to display them on my shelf. With a library book, you have to give them back. With an ebook, it goes wherever you go, but you can’t display them on a shelf. It’s there, but it could be easily forgotten.

I’d never thought in a million years that I would say it, but the Strand is inching its way to becoming my favorite bookstore. I’m cheap. A bargain hunter. And there is nothing better in this world than really really cheap books. I love how Books of Wonder has the best kids books out there. But I love even more how Strand can have some – emphasis on the some – of these books for a fraction of the price. I hate Strand’s organization, however. Or lack thereof. I get a headache when I browse through their shelves. How am I supposed to know if we categorize a certain book as the same genre? What if it falls under more than one? Where would the book be, huh Strand? And ok, I’m not the tallest of people so craning my neck to possibly look for a book is very difficult. I love how Strand has 18 miles of books and yet I can never find the books that I want to read. I really need to learn to shop at Strand and just browse.

I’m actually tired, so I’m cutting this entry short. I just wanted to complain about my stupid right foot. I hate how I’ve been complaining about it the whole day, but it really does hurt! There’s no worse hassle than a sore foot because I live in Manhattan and walking is my basic form of transportation. Which means it sucks to be a cripple. I’m hobbling, limping, whatever you want to call it. It’s not very attractive, but for some reason, I can’t put pressure on my right foot. I just want it fixed! Or at the very least, know what’s wrong with it.

There’s snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I have plans with Kimmy to watch No Strings Attached, and I hope that 1) my foot doesn’t cripple me tomorrow and 2) people shovel the sidewalks and 3) the snow stops early, but really that it doesn’t snow at all. Fat chance.

I’m sleepy. Maybe I’ll attempt to read. Maybe I’ll just pass out and sleep.
