I just realized that I’ve been hoarding a lot of my photos recently. I’m about to get another roll of film developed, but I haven’t put up any pictures online. Here’s a few photos from the Holi Fest from several months ago.

The Holi Festival is a Hindu festival held to celebrate the coming of spring. Also known as the Festival of Colors, the celebration of Holi usually involves participants coloring each other with colored powder. Holi is primarily observed in countries such as India and Nepal, but the celebration has spread to other countries as well, including the United States.

This past year, I was invited to attend the Holi Fest in Brooklyn. The venue was out of the way, but it was worth the 2-hour long trek.

After hearing that Brett Dennen will be in NYC in May, I am now seriously considering seeing him! I’ve loved his songs for a while now so I think it’s about time I saw him live. I’m low on cash, but I may just find a way. Tickets, after all, aren’t that expensive.

I did something spontaneous tonight. I got a text from my friend Pratik an hour before the Katy Perry concert started. He got free tickets through AT&T and Windows and he needed someone to go with. I was in the middle of making dinner, but I dropped everything and rushed to get ready. I was so happy I went!

We got pretty good spots. Being short, I couldn’t see the whole time, but I had a lot of fun nonetheless. I think the highlight of the night was when Katy Perry started to sing “Peacock” – just because I had the song stuck in my head the whole day yesterday. Unfortunately because of the rush to get to the Roseland Ballroom, I forgot to bring my camera… My old blackberry took one decent picture.
